There are Babies EVERYWHERE

So we finally got to throw a baby shower for the guy that works with us. His baby isn't even supposed to be here yet (due 5/31) but she came a little early. So we had to put our baby shower on hold. It worked out fine though. It was fun, and he was so surprised.

But, the real reason I'm writing this is because I feel like everywhere I look, everyone I talk to, everywhere I go... there are babies, or pregnant women, or women trying to get pregnant. There are probably 25 women that I work with that are pregnant. No, I am not exagerating, I work in a huge company. Anyway, I have a few friends who are trying to get pregnant, and a few who just found out they're pregnant. They are really EVERYWHERE!

I don't know whether it is because it is the next step in my life and that's why I am so observant. I mean, when I was engaged I felt like everyone around me was getting married. Who knows, but I just can't believe the amount of pregnancy going around! I hope there isn't something in the water (for my sake) HAHA!

Thank You...

Today I would like to thank the ignorant butt that sat behind hubby and I at dinner and DIDN'T TURN THEIR CELL PHONE TEXT MESSAGE NOTIFICATION OFF. They seriously got a text like every 2 seconds, and this was freaking loud. Not to mention rude, annoying, and obnoxious all wrapped up in one.

I would just like to fill you in... if you are that person who is constantly texting on your cell phone, let me be the first to tell you... it's rude.

So, thank you to all you people who cannot put your phone down for long enough to take a freaking breath... and thanks for letting all of us know how popular you are.

So, as you know, Joe and I are starting the long and seemingly never-ending process of searching for a house. Last year we started really late in the year, thinking oh no big deal, our lease is up in January and there are tons of houses on the market, we will definitely find exactly what we want, for the perfect price, and everything will work out just fine. WE WERE SO WRONG!

We live in Stow, meaning its a pretty pricey area, but Joe and I both work in the Stow area, so this is a prime location for us. They have great school systems (big deal for us because we don't want to move around!), everything is right here as opposed to Hartville, having to drive all over creation to get a freakin 6-pack, there is shopping, and we are extremely close to the highway. Although I would love to live closer to family and friends, this is where Joe and I want to call home. When we looked at houses the first time, we set a limit for ourselves, and all the houses we looked at were pieces of crap (and that is being nice). We saw mold, dirt, animals left behind... you name it, I am sure we saw it. One Saturday we looked at 22 houses in our marathon home hunting day... still nothing.

So when our lease was up in January we were stuck. We hated our old apartment. It was tiny and we were literally on top of each other all the time (not that way :-P) and to boot... they were raising our rent 75 dollars for the next year. SEE YA!!! We found an older place, with less amenities for much less rent. BINGO... This will be a great place to hang until we find a house.

Well, when we signed the lease, our landlord made it sound as if it was really easy to break the lease if we had to because people want to live here (our neighbors have all lived here upwards of 10 years, don't ask me how... or why). Anyway, so we have a great opportunity coming upon us here shortly, so me being the nice tenant that I am, call the landlord to ask him again how hard it is going to be. Well, yesterday he was definitely singing a totally different tune. JERK. Now, it is going to be almost impossible to break our lease, according to him... well we will see about that.

Let me give you a list of reasons why apartment living sucks...
1. There are so many unsupervised children around here that they want my dog to come out and play with them... SERIOUSLY... go find your mom!
2. We have a convicted rapist living next door. That's right... no one told us this and now I am nervous about being at home alone. He did time for raping a woman... wouldn't you be just a little nervous about that?
3. My immediate next door neighbor smokes pot... REGULARLY. And... right outside our window, so we get that lovely scent wafting through our apartment all the time. She is a really nice lady, but smoke in your own house.
4. One man in our complex has an anger issue and beats his wife. I am scared that he may come outside one day so mad....

So, in a nutshell, I guess it doesn't matter where you rent, RENTING SUCKS! Hence, some of the reasons why we are going to try and get out of our apartment. Wish us luck!

My Husband Rocks Friday

Today my husband rocks because we are looking again to buy a house. And who better to take a huge step with, than your very best friend. We are working on getting all the paperwork in order, just in time to buy the house of our dreams, up for sheriff sale a month from Tuesday!

More on the house purchasing later :-)

PS... I know it looks a little rough now, but we looked at the house last year and it was really nice but way out of our price range. Although I feel bad about the people losing their house to foreclosure, it may work out nicely for us!

Bucket List

I have been reading people's bucket lists online and I thought I would make one of my own. One with things that I have already done, or want to do in my lifetime.

Here goes...
1. Step foot in all 50 states
2. Fall in Love (check)
3. Have a child
4. Travel to Paris
5. Be a fitness instructor (I have to get fit first LOL)
6. Have a dog on the dog brigade at the hospital
7. Work doing something I thoroughly enjoy, not for money
8. Read Little Women
9. Be a foster parent
10. Live in a different state
11. Go to Mardi Gras (even though I hear it stinks there)
12. Renew my vows on my fiftieth wedding anniversary
13. Make it to my fiftieth wedding anniversary
14. See a play on Broadway
15. Own a vacation home
16. Watch the Olympics live
17. Go back to college
18. Own my own business with my husband
19. Have a life-long friend (working on it, love you Britt!)
20. Learn how to scrapbook and complete a scrapbook

It's just a few things off the top of my head, that I feel are very attainable "life goals" if you will.

I am writing this blog because I have no one to talk to. I know most of my readers are proud parents of humans, but I consider my dog my "child". Joe and I got her right before we got married and love her so much.

When we got her, I had heard that Petsmart offered "puppy insurance". I looked into the price and weighed it out and decided to do it. NEWSFLASH: I should have looked at the backrounds of the doctors too. While we were having Zoey spade they knicked a nerve. To this day they still say she was born that way, but she was fine before that day. We have kept her alive since then, watching her legs get worse by the day.

This week, she couldn't even keep her back end up on her own, she is having accidents all over the house, and we have to carry her everywhere. Joe and I had to sit down and think about this logically. We decided that tomorrow we were going to take Zoey to be put down. She is suffering and we are being selfish keeping her alive. She will be better off in puppy heaven where I hope she can walk and keep herself up.

She is a great dog, and I hope to someday have another dog like her.

I have a question for all of you avid readers. Last night, on our way to dinner, Joe and I were listening to the radio (Maxwell Show). It isnt' my favorite, but we usually listen to what I like, so I have just come to terms with the fact that on weekdays before 7, if we are in the car, Maxwell is on the radio.

Anyway, last night they brought up the "fact" that 40% of couples in marriage counseling are there because one/both partners have a myspace/facebook page which ultimately led to the fighting.

Seriously? I use facebook as a way to connect with people who I haven't talked to in a long time. Not to hook up with random men while my husband is at work. HAHA! These idiots were calling in on the radio saying their significant other was setting up dates and sending naked/inappropriate pictures to others. My husband just laughed. He hasn't been on his facebook page since we graduated college. He feels that it is stalkerish and sees the people he wants to, and doesn't talk to anyone that he didn't before. We have different opinions on that, but that doesn't mean I am cheating.

I just could not get over these idiots on the radio the other day. So my question to you is... most of you are married or taken women. Does your hubby/significant other feel threatened by facebook, and would you get rid of it if it did?

Torn Up

This is going to be short and to the point.

I am so upset. Last night I got a text message from a friend whom I haven't heard from in awhile. She is a very busy person, pursuing her masters degree and working many hours a week. I understand not hearing from her very often. I know I can count on her if I need something.

Her dad has been fighting cancer for about 3 years. He has good days and bad days and I would get an update on him, probably about monthly, or when something major happened.

Well, last night I got a text message asking me to kick up my prayers for him, they had only given him hours to live. I was crushed. I haven't talked to her in a few weeks, and last I had heard, he was doing alright. Well, through the night I got the message saying he had lost his battle.

I am absolutely beside myself. She is younger than me and her parents are about the same age as my parents. Let this be a message to everyone, you never know what tomorrow holds, so make sure to tell everyone you love them TODAY!! And pray for my friend!

My Husband Rocks Friday

Ok, first, I have no clue how to add the "my husband rocks" icon to my page, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Now, on to why my husband rocks this week. My husband rocks because I am having surgery today and I know that he will be helpful when he gets home. He sometimes acts like a "tough guy" but he really is a sweetheart!

I love him more everyday!

January 12, 2006 - The day we got engaged. I was so surprised and not expecting it at all!

Exhaustion has Officially Set In...

This week has been so incredibly exhausting, and I am only at Wednesday... Are you kidding me?

I am an accountant... not a very fun job, I have to admit. But this week has just about put me over the edge. The other staff accountant's wife went into early labor last weekend and gave birth to their first child on Friday. Well... this week is close week. And for us here in accounting world, that means deadlines, and tons of work, and working late. Well without my partner in crime, guess who get's to do ALL the work. None other than me! I already have approximately 40 hours in this week and it's only Wednesday. Good thing I'm on salary... NOT!

Of course, on the day when I have most of my deadlines, the system crashes and so I have spent more time at work in the past 3 days than at home, with my husband, and my puppies. SERIOUSLY?

Ok, enough of the work rant.

On another note, I have been intensely reading and commenting on several blogs lately, and I really like it. But I am getting the feeling that my life just isn't as important as others. I don't have children, I don't stay at home and have cute stories for everyone's enjoyment. Don't get me wrong, I love reading about everyone's life. BUT... I have reasons for not having children yet. Like the fact that I kept my promise to my parents, and finished college before marrying my HIGH SCHOOL sweetheart. Go ahead, do the math, that is nearly 6 years people. My parent's really wanted me to finish college, or else they wouldn't pay for our wedding. Fair enough! Then theres the whole idea of being married for a little while. If you read some earlier posts, you would see what exactly I am talking about in the way of "reasons why Joe and I are not having children yet."

I know this is probably just the exhaustion talking, but I felt as though I needed to get that out.

I am seriously getting ready to go to bed. With new puppies, lots of work, and knee surgery on Friday, I have a lot on my plate.

Until next time,
